Time to Die
There was once a famous teacher. Over the years, many students attended his classes. They enjoyed listening to his funny stories which taught students how to live a good life. Everybody said he was a great teacher.
When the great teacher was a young boy, he was a little different from the other students. He loved to read books and spend time thinking. He could easily remember long stories and answer many kinds of problems.
As a student, he used to spend a lot of time in his teacher’s room. There were many books to read. He also liked to look at the images of big buildings on the wall and dream about visiting new places.
There was also an old tea set with two beautiful cups on a small table.
While playing in the room one day, the boy hit the table. One of the cups fell to the floor and broke into pieces. At that moment, he could hear the sound of his teacher walking up the steps.
He quickly picked up the pieces and put them behind his back so the teacher couldn’t see them.
As the teacher entered the room, the boy and asked, “Why do people die?”
The teacher was surprised by this question. He answered, “Everything in this world must die. That is the law of nature.”
“Everything?” asked the boy.
“Yes, everything” said the teacher.
The boy showed the broken cup to the teacher and said, “It was time for your cup to die.”
